About Me

For more than 40 years, I have worked in commercial litigation and dispute resolution, accruing considerable knowledge and understanding of technical and legislative issues  along the way, across a wide variety of commercial industry issues including energy, construction and pharmaceutical.

Case subjects range from wind and hydro energy compliance issues to negotiating remediation for contaminated sites, from advising large national organisations on Trust issues to prosecuting cases of professional misconduct, dealing with the media and liaising with politicians.

I have navigated challenging cases and client management and provided skilled counsel on many hearings with Local Authorities and the Environment Court and successfully conducted contested cases in the High Court and Court of Appeal.

I am an experienced RMA Commissioner of resource consent hearings, including operating as Chair.

Having lived and worked in NZ, Australia and the Middle East, my home is now in Nelson where I am a well-known and respected sole practitioner in the legal community. With skill and expertise, I am able to provide you with professional legal advice on business, commercial and personal matters, and also act as a mediator in commercial and property matters, including disputes involving trusts and estates.
